Free for shelters and rescues, for good
Shelters, rescues and humane societies list their adoptable animals on Furizzma at no cost. Not a trial, and no fee per pet or per adoption. Families find your animals in the same search as everyone else's and message you directly.
What you get
- Your animals show in one search with pets from owners and breeders across the US, and on the adopt pages for families who only want to adopt.
- Listings show an adoption fee, not a price, and your profile and pets carry a Verified rescue badge once we've checked you.
- Adopters message you on Furizzma, so you don't have to post a phone number. We read messages for the signs of a pet scam and step in when we find one.
- Families can save a search and get an email when a pet that matches it is listed, so a new arrival reaches people already looking for one.
Getting verified
A person checks every rescue by hand before its profile and pets show, so adopters can trust the badge.
- 1 Sign up as a rescue and fill in your profile.
- 2 Add your nonprofit EIN, or your state's shelter or rescue license number if you have one instead.
- 3 We check it and email you. Once you're approved, your profile and animals go live with the Verified rescue badge. If we can't approve you, the email says why, and adding a corrected number puts you back in line.
You can add your animals while you wait; they show as soon as you're approved.
Getting your animals on without retyping
- Upload a spreadsheet (CSV) of your animals, up to 200 at a time. Start from our template, or use the one you already keep: we match your column names to ours, and you see a preview of every animal before anything is added.
- Put links to each animal's photos in the sheet, and we bring the photos in for you.
- Already use shelter software? Most can export your animals to a spreadsheet. The import page shows how for the common ones.
- Imported animals arrive as drafts, so you can look them over before they go live.
What the spreadsheet looks like
One row per animal. Only the name and pet type are required; leave the rest blank if you don't have them.

- Your own column names work too. "Animal Name", "Species", "Primary Breed", "Gender", "DOB" and "Adoption Fee" are matched for you, and you can fix any match before importing.
- Breeds can be one or several, separated by commas. "Labrador Retriever Mix" is read as a Labrador Retriever and Mixed Breed.
- Price is the adoption fee in dollars, and dates can be 2023-05-10 or 5/10/2023.
- Photo links are web addresses of each animal's photos, up to 10, separated by spaces.

Is it really free?
Yes. Shelters, rescues and humane societies never pay to list, and there's no limit on how many animals you list.
How are adoption fees paid?
The way you take them today. Furizzma never handles payments: adopters pay you directly, under your own adoption process and contract.
Who counts as a rescue?
A shelter, rescue or humane society with a nonprofit EIN or a state shelter or rescue license. Fostering or rehoming on your own? Sign up as an owner instead.
